Jayden Schwieso is an Australian videographer, photographer, video editor, and documentary filmmaker based in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. Jay graduated from QUT in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts: Film, Screen and New Media, specialising in editing.

At Australia Zoo, Jay assists in leading a crew of eight creatives as the 2IC of the audio-visual team, working closely with the Irwin family to direct the production of the zoo’s YouTube channel of 800k+ subscribers through planning, shooting and editing. After two years in khaki, the videos Jay has published have ammassed tens of millions of views across social platforms.

Jay also operates the daily live show in the Crocoseum, shoots and edits wedding and proposal videography packages, and shoots special events inlcuding the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner.

Outside of the zoo, Jay operates as a freelance creative, offering videography, photography and video editing servies, primarily working with musicians on music videos, documenting live events, social media promotion, and directing press photoshoots.

Jay has a strong passion for documentary filmmaking, and in 2024, created a documentary series titled “wavelengths”, uncovering local emerging bands, and showcasing their unique personalities & creative processes.
